Brain dead with Manu Chao

Somehow I managed to get absolutely no sleep last night and will probably remain completely brain dead for the rest of the day. I did manage to read Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows for the third time between 6 and 11 a.m. this morning, though.

A friend showed me this video a few days ago - it's kind of hilarious and I'd never heard of Manu Chao before.

Manu Chao - "Me Gustas Tu"

Maybe some more coffee or mate will do the trick?

Manu Chao has been one of the Latin world's biggest superstars for about a decade now; I say "Latin" because the guy's from France, and although he sings mostly in Spanish, he also does his thing in French, Portuguese and English. He had a band called "Mano Negra", that had a colossal hit with "Mala Vida", a track very well worth tracking down (and one you've probably heard but maybe don't identify), that also had a very entertaining video. "King Kong Five" was pretty cool, too. Manu was at Coachella this year. I'm not a big fan, but I do believe he's an interesting character, check out his wiki page:

Manu Chao was originally from Spain, him, his father and mother, left france to escape Fransico Franco and his dictatorship, so him and his family moved to france, which is why he sings in spanish and french, hes not french hes spanish

I don't know anything about music. In my line [of work] you don't have to.
