Things announced this week:
- Raconteurs' tour dates. They're going to Norfolk? And not DC? What?
- A Fall Tour for the Decemberists. Not dates yet, just hope...I love the Decemberists...Colin Meloy!
- The failure of the anti-Gay Marriage amendment. "Celebrate good times, ALRIGHT!"
- Hype is BAD. Avoid it like the plague. Of course. But Buzz is GOOD. What?
- Paste has decided the Top 100 Living Songwriters. Since what Paste says is Gospel, of course we should agree and bow down just low enough for some of these mediocre peeps to see our noses touch the ground. PAUL SIMON IS BEHIND PRINCE?!?!?!? Had to get that out.
- Paris Hilton has a single out, and it's not as bad as we all thought it would be. And "Best Week Ever" knows how to put the song in context. The video is a MUST SEE.
Bands...and posts...you should check out
- Come Pick Me Up has an extremely high success rate with me and new bands, and this week's been no exception. Brothers and Sisters = Folk Music out of time & the Exit...I like it, and my guy friends who think Anberlin and Acceptance's bladi-blah-blah white boy rock is the shit (whilst I cry in a corner in shame) would like it.
- I saw this post and somehow, magically, this feeling of pure giggly-girlishness came over me. Think Jennifer Garner in 13 going on 30 and you'll understand. Thank you for that.
