    I completely agree.

    umm JOHN LENNON ANYONE??????/

  5. # Anonymous Anonymous

I thought it was about his mind, his words. I think he's still amazingly beautiful.

    Looks are so insignificant.

The picture is far too big for you kid.

  6. # Anonymous Anonymous

you peeps dont get it...isn't it about the music not the look

  7. # Blogger Kate

more than 3 months later and this post is still getting comments. I know I must have done something right.

yeah you said something really fucking stupid you dumb cunt...its about the words and not the look...just because he grew the fuck up and brushed the hair out of his face should make no fucking difference so shut up and focus on your god damn pop music in which the image is everything and stay out of good music

okay, so here's the joke. I don't really care all that much what he looks like either, I listen to Bright Eyes a lot. chill. john lennon was on heroine and married to yoko towards the end of his life/career, did that stop him from making brilliant music? no. would conor oberst look better if he cut his hair? yes. does it matter? not really.

btw, could you try to getting pissed off at someone who gets paid for writing next time? I don't.

    christ people,

someone makes a funny comment about how Sonic youth ain't that youthful anymore or how Conor Oberst looks like a woman and you all jump down their throat.

    wtf man?

    she isn't dissing the music.

  12. # Anonymous Anonymous

haha "how conor oberst looks like a woman". yeah I think he would look better with it cut too. but he'll never be my significant other so it doesn't matter :( loll. i'd still marry him. or do him. y'know.

    rehab ruins artists - fact!

They get fat, long haired and lose the edge.

  14. # Anonymous Anonymous

Personally, I think we'd all gain something by debating the lyrics as opposed to Conor's hair length. As for 'dandan's comment, yes, Conor seems to have changed after rehab, and you could say that he's lost his edge, but I'd rather say that he's gained a sophistication instead. I'm just glad he got the help he needed. (And yes, he did look better with short hair. But that's not the point.)

rehab? he was pretty trashed when he played the pabst in milwaukee.

  16. # Anonymous caleb "BuLL" reese

big fucking deal if he grows his hair out. it shouldn't matter what he looks like, his music is what should make you love him. so fuck you media for addressing stupid shit.

I'm a member of the media? Thanks! (seriously, the number of comments on this post cracks me up, it's from April and it took me 5 seconds to put up)

Conor looks sexy no matter what, and his muic aint bad either hehe. its funny how people get so pissed when u mention superficial stuff about thier favorite band, but you know the type, the "society, man, totally based on looks, man, like apprieciate the music man."

  19. # Anonymous Anonymous

i don't care what he looks like. he's beautiful..his music is beautiful.

  20. # Anonymous Anonymous

how about this: the guy gets other people to write his string arrangements. All he writes for his music is the three chords that the beautiful music somebody else wrote goes over. :/. John Lennon/Elliott Smith wouldn't do that. That's capitalizing on somebody else's talent. So the question is this: Does David Lee Roth look better in acid wash denim or spandex? That's a more historically appropriate comparison.

ugggh!! its way too mainstream of a look for him. for him. what happened to the old indie emo conor? i think it makes him look like an arrogant sell out. and i think hes starting to get fatter. its not all about what you look like but when your looks portray your music it makes it that much more believeable.

Conor is hot no matter what! His talent is what makes him attractive, its a plus about his looks :), regardless of his hair cut I would be with him no matter what. Hmmm he makes beautiful music..
